With Emocean magazine, we hosted our first group show with 11 artists, and the crowd went wild.
Co-curated by Mariah of Emocean magazine and artist Ayu Slippens, we presented works by Reif Meyers, Naomi Samara, Luh’De Gita, Mar Kristoff, Zissou, Ayu Slippens, Linkan Palenewen, Rubitta Huang, Ricky Lee Gordon, Max Desantis, and Coco Melati. Music was supplied by Mosco Uno of Head Hi.
The event was organized to launch the print-only surf magazine Emocean‘s issue 4. There is something electric about getting inspired, mixing influences, tuning into our higher vices and staring at some super cool creations. And turns out good looking people like art and long form surf journalism!
Stay tuned for the next show, we love celebrating and supporting local artists.

We can’t stop looking at the new hand made property map by Guy Hastings
If you missed out on the age of exploration, Guy Hasting’s maps are the next best thing. Exquisitely rendered maps and charts of territories known and unknown, you can remember your own adventures, plan the next one, or just get lost in the dream.
Guy recently created a map of our own property. We loved seeing the beautifully articulated shapes, temples and natural features. We all know the real treasure is in the near-shore blue.*
*May also be counted in laughs shared and bathing suits worn.
We have an incredible line-up of world class yoga retreats to go along with the early dry season waves. We are zen-ed out and stoked just thinking about it – there is something for every kind of stretch and enlightenment you’re after.

His style is Vinyasa Flow and he draws from his lifelong background in Iyengar. Josh empowers his students wherever they are to feel renewed, confident, and inspired. Drop in for those turquoise blue waters and memories good for a lifetime.
We run a delightful variety of workshops but we have especially enjoyed hosting a monthly ceramics class with Gusti Dalem that alternates between hand-building one month and wheel-throwing the next. It’s been so satisfying to make beautiful and useful goods with our own hands. It’s also been a joy to see the outcome of all our friend’s clay creations. New obsession forming!

An evening with Dr. Lawrence Blair
Our favorite psycho-anthropologist and explorer, the esteemed author of The Ring of Fire gave a talk upstairs at Mana titled “Consciousness in Nature & The Great Deeps of Indonesia,” to a full house of like minded and interested guests. Did you know that there is a vast network of fungi thriving in the deepest layers of Indonesia’s coral triangle? And that the components of some of these marine mushrooms form the basis of all life? After being guided through Indonesia’s wealth of nature, science and mysticism, we might never be the same.
Dr. Blair expanding our minds into the dark depths.
We had our first staff party after almost three years of waiting! The team has really grown here and it was great to cut loose and let our new people get to know our long time members in a more relaxed atmosphere. We are 180 people strong these days with some of us, like Ibu Juli, here for over 12 years!

BIG THANKS FROM THE TEAM!
Signing off to surf!
Light on-shore winds yet fun and empty waves are keeping us in-shape for the stellar dry season we all know is just around the corner now! We hope to surf with you soon.
