If you ever dreamed of building the foam and fiberglass craft that continually gives you so much joy in the ocean, but you never really knew how and where to begin—look no further than USV. Since the arrival of our stunning onsite shaping bay—designed by master woodworker and artist Jay Nelson—we’ve hosted quite a few notable shapers who have worked in the bay like: Jon Pyzel, Alex Lopez, Neal Purchase Jr, Maurice Cole, and Joel Fitzgerald. We figured: why not give this experience to a keen guest? If it’s possible to shape a board, have it glassed, and then be able to ride it in the world class lefthanders out front, just steps from the property…why not? The first guest to actually request this, and who became the inspiration for this experience, was none other than 8X WSL Womens World Champion Stephanie Gilmore. And her creation was a hit.

Thus, we are pleased to announce that we are now offering this service to in-house guests with a minimum stay of 5-nights. We’ll then link you up with our in-house shaper Vincent, who will guide you through the process of shaping your own board here in the USV shaping bay. After which, we can get our in-house glassing team to do a super-fast, high-quality glass-and-sand so that your board is ready in four days. Now, start dreaming…
